Cyprus: government backs Great Sea Interconnector but is wary of the cost burden on consumers
Energy Minister Michalis Damianos said the project will raise the price of electricity per kilowatt hour; if costs rise significantly, additional European or other funding should be sought. The European Investment Bank study is expected before the end of the year, completion around the end of 2031.
